Objective:To investigate the association between oral xenobiotics and the risk of hospitalization for cancer or chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Method:To assess the association between oral xenobiotics and the risk of hospitalization for cancer or chronic kidney disease (CKD) in a population of patients with a diagnosis of cancer. This study included a cohort of 726 patients with a diagnosis of cancer who received oral xenobiotics for the prevention of cancer or CKD. Patients with cancer who were admitted to the hospital for a period of more than 2 years were excluded. The population was stratified by gender (men, female) and age (18–45, ≥60, >60 years), and matched with the general population of the Netherlands for age and sex. All patients were interviewed by an experienced interviewor of the Dutch cancer-care services. The number of patients with cancer and CKD were analyzed using multivariable logistic regression. Cox proportional hazard models were used to compare the association of all drugs and the risk of hospitalization for cancer and CKD among patients with a diagnosis of cancer in the Dutch population. All analyses were performed using STATA 15 (Stata Corporation, College Station, TX, USA). Results: The adjusted hazard ratio (HR) for hospitalization for cancer or CKD was 1.19 (95% CI, 1.02–1.27) for orlistat (OR, 1.08; 95% CI, 1.06–1.12), and 1.10 (95% CI, 1.04–1.22) for oral xenobiotics. A higher risk of hospitalization for CKD was observed for orlistat compared with orlistat (HR, 1.10 (95% CI, 1.01–1.26) for orlistat; HR, 1.09 (95% CI, 1.00–1.20) for orlistat; HR, 1.10 (95% CI, 1.03–1.22) for orlistat; HR, 1.11 (95% CI, 1.04–1.22). There were no significant differences between orlistat and orlistat in the risk of hospitalization for CKD or CKD among the patients with a diagnosis of cancer. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that the use of oral xenobiotics for the prevention of cancer and CKD did not increase the risk of hospitalization for CKD.

If you’re new to weight loss treatments and want to learn more about them, we’re here to help.
Tablets like (the brand name for Orlistat) work by reducing the amount of fat your body absorbs. Ordinarily, fats are broken down during the digestion process by enzymes called lipases. Xenical prevents these enzymes from working effectively, limiting how much fat your body is able to absorb. The remaining, undigested fat is then excreted.
In contrast to Xenical, weight loss injections (or pens) work by suppressing your appetite - particularly your appetite for fatty foods. Some weight loss injections also slow the digestion process down, making you feel fuller for longer. They’re simple to use - check out our for more information.
Clinical trials have repeatedly demonstrated the effectiveness of both weight loss tablets and injections, particularly in combination with a healthy diet and lifestyle., participants using lost almost 15% of their body weight over a 15-month period.

These are approved for weight loss in combination with a healthy diet and regular physical activity. They work by blocking about a quarter of the fat your body absorbs. This is lost to the diet and active lifestyle. This means that they work well when taken along with a calorie-controlled, reduced-calorie diet. Additionally, Orlistat is also taken once a week, rather than three times a day. This way, it’s more cost-effective than taking a daily dose of the drug. Despite the proven effectiveness of Orlistat in weight loss, it’s important to note that these injections need to be used for more than one year and may not be suitable for everyone.

Orlistat is used to treat obesity and help in weight loss. Orlistat is to be used along with a low-calorie diet and regular physical exercise. Obesity is a common condition associated with excessive body fat, which in turn increases the risk of other health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, certain cancers, and heart disease. Intake of more calories than you burn by exercise or daily activities results in obesity.
Orlistat contains Orlistat, which works in the small intestine and stomach and prevents the action of enzymes that break down fat, which is absorbed by the body. Orlistat decreases the absorption of fat from the food you eat. Thus, fat passes through the gut and is excreted in the faeces, which makes the body unable to use fat as a source of energy or convert it into fat tissue. Thereby, Orlistat helps in weight loss.
Take Orlistat as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Orlistat for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Some people may experience soft stools, sudden bowel motions, flatulence (gas) with or without oily spotting, oily or fatty stools, stomach pain, stool incontinence (involuntary leakage of stools), and runny or liquid stools. Most of these side effects of Orlistat do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Orlistat or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid taking Orlistat if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy, as it may cause fetal harm. You are advised to take a multivitamin containing fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, and K at bedtime as Orlistat may reduce the absorption of certain vitamins in the body.

Xenical (orlistat) is an innovative weight loss medication that aids individuals in managing obesity by inhibiting the absorption of dietary fats in the intestine. Obesity is a significant health concern that increases the risk of various conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension. Xenical offers a unique approach to weight management by preventing the breakdown and absorption of about 30% of the fat consumed in a meal, which is then excreted from the body. This reduction in fat absorption helps lower overall caloric intake, making it easier for individuals to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. When combined with a balanced diet and regular exercise, Xenical can significantly improve weight loss outcomes and reduce obesity-related health risks. It is a valuable tool for those struggling with weight management, providing support and efficacy in achieving long-term weight loss goals.
